Zonta Club of Bowling Green Area Announces 2007 Zonta Scholarship Recipients and New Officers
Bowling Green, OH, May 1, 2007: Zonta Club of Bowling Green Area proudly announces the 2007 Zonta Club of Bowling Green Area Scholarship Recipients.
Laura Snider, of Bowling Green, Ohio, recently opened a new local business, “Radiance Healing “ that focuses upon Mind-Body-Movement utilizing Middle Eastern Dance and Kundalini Yoga. In order to enhance her career, Ms. Snider wishes obtain Kundalini Yoga certification. This certification will provide her with the recognized credentials that will enable her to take her business to the next level; allowing her to teach, present and volunteer her healing arts outside of her studio – in the community at large. In addition to operating her business, Ms. Snider, a mother of three daughters, works as a substitute teacher for Bowling Green City Schools. Although she has only lived in Bowling Green for a short period of time, she has already begun giving back to the community as a volunteer. Laura was awarded a scholarship in the amount of $2,000.
Olga Baker, is a graduate student in the GEMINI nursing program at the University of Toledo. Her goal is to become a Doctor of Nursing Practice or a nurse practitioner. Ms. Baker, originally from Russia, finished medical school while raising her daughter as a single mother. She is married and lives in Wayne, Ohio. Ms. Baker’s hope is to someday lead a research team in her clinical specialty (pediatrics or neonatology). Olga received a $500 book scholarship.
Zonta Club of Bowling Green Area provides at least one scholarship, annually, to a woman age 25 years or older. The award recipient must be a resident of Wood County, Ohio, show financial need, have earned a high school diploma or GED, and be eligible to enroll or already be enrolled in a post-secondary program of study.
New Zonta Club of Bowling Green officers were also installed at the May 1 meeting for the 2007- 2008 year. They are:

Zonta Club of Bowling Green Area is part of a larger, international organization known as Zonta International.
